Meet Brian and Hear His Story

At Moffitt, we have both inpatient and outpatient treatments to best serve our patients’ needs. We also are committed to ongoing research and clinical trials that identify innovative treatment methodologies that may be recommended. Specifically, some of the types of leukemia treatment we currently offer include:

  • Traditional chemotherapy, which is an effective way of destroying leukemia cells
  • Radiation therapy, which is used to slow or stop the growth and reproduction of leukemia cells
  • Bone marrow transplant, which is used to replace diseased bone marrow with healthy donor marrow; the leukemia team works closely with the Blood & Marrow Transplant Program
  • Monoclonal antibody therapy, which is used to stimulate the patient’s immune system to target specific leukemia cells

To further assist in our patients’ ongoing treatment, our leukemia team works closely with local physicians who will provide ongoing care in between patient visits to Moffitt Cancer Center. We can also help with travel plans for patients who do not live nearby, making the entire process as easy as possible.
